The Society of Garden Designers

The Society of garden designers was founded in 1981and consists mainly of UK members. All members are required to abide by the Code of Professional Conduct and Good Practice. Currently there are 1,700 members. 200 of these in the UK are Registered members such as Chris or Fellows.

The Landscape Institiute

The Landscape Institute, of which Sian is a Chartered Member, is the Royal Chartered institute for Landscape Architects.

It is a professional body and educational charity which works to conserve, enhance and protect the natural and built environment for the buplic benefit. The Landscape Institute works with government to improve the planning, design and management of urban and rural landscape.

The Royal Horticultural Society

The Royal Horticultural Society (The RHS) 'is the country's leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening'. It has a great website.

RHS Garden at Harlow Carr, Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Harlow Carr Botanical Gardens at Harrogate, North Yorkshire opened in 1950 to trial the growth of plants in the northern climate. Today it is a fantastic garden to visit throughout the year with many highlights. There are also fun play areas within the garden where children can play whilst the adults relax and picnic.
