Sloping Garden at Roundhay
Sloping garden at Roundhay with a ramped path leading from the lower patio area to the upper lawned garden. The patio outside the house extension was used as for outdoor eating and as a utility area whilst the top part of the garden was a large lawned area. This large lawned garden was the home football pitch. The garden design connected these two areas with a gentle ramped path, the gradient being suitable for wheelchair access. The walls were rendered smooth and painted a bright white to bring light into the garden and a crisp and modern garden atmosphere. Planting consists of herbaceous planting with specimen trees as focal points. Colours are blues, purples and soft greens.
A small vegetable plot was also incorporated into the design with timber sleeper edgings and water butts.
