Simple pergola over outdoor dining area

The back garden originally consisted of a damp,dark courtyard with broken concrete flooring. The oak timbers and metal uprights painted black were used in the pergola tied the garden design in with the historical heritage of the site.

Red brick and sandstone sett detailing in the stone flooring were used to break up and visually expand the small garden. Garden lighting turns this into an exciting outdoor entertaining space at night with a large 'outdoor fireplace' built into the retaining wall. This outdoor fireplace gives heat and light into a somewhat dark space.
